A dental curing light is a tool that dentists use for using light to cure various polymers. They can be used on several different dental materials that are curable by light. Basically, the polymer hardens with exposure to the proper light. The light wavelength is usually within the visible blue light spectrum. There are four basic types of dental curing lights; Tungsten halogen, light emitting diode (LED), plasma arc curing (PAC), and laser. The two most commonly used dental curing lights are the halogen and LED. Common brands include Dentamerica and First Medica.
